Service Projects

The Voorhees Breakfast Rotary Club conducts various service projects, both locally and internationally, such as supporting efforts to build a children's playground at the Santo Domingo Orphanage, which our Rotary District coordinates on an annual basis and Rotary International's initiative to eradicate polio. In addition to these projects, the Voorhees Breakfast Rotary Club has conducted the following service projects:

  • Donated funds to provide shelter boxes to victims of the Haitian and Italian earthquakes.
  • Awarded over $5,000 in college scholarship money to local high school students.
  • Provided over 200 food baskets and supermarket gift cards to needy families in Voorhees.
  • Donated over $2,500 to the Voorhees Community Education and Recreation (CER) summer program to allow children without financial resources to attend for free.
  • Sent over 20 local high school students to the Rotary Youth Leadership Program.
  • Provided over 2,000 dictionaries to third grade students in the Voorhees School District.
  • Provided over 200 backpacks, filled by our members with school supplies to needy families in Voorhees.
  • Donated books to the Virtua Hospital Pediatric Unit.
  • Collected over 500 video tapes which were given to local nursing homes.
  • Raised funds which were directly used for the Tsunami and Hurricane Katrina relief efforts through UNICEF, the United Way and the Christian Life Center.
  • Providing volunteers and refreshments at Voorhees Township events such as picnics, concerts and movie nights.
  • Sponsoring the Voorhees Township Easter Egg Hunt which is attended by over 200 children annually.
  • Providing monetary support and volunteers, in conjunction with the Voorhees based GoodLooking Foundation, to broaden the awareness of autism.
  • Recognizing, on an annual basis, a local resident and business person for their contributions to the Voorhees community.

As Rotarians, we are constantly in search of those in need and are eager to lend a hand.
